Crafting

all of my senses have been warmed up in this foggy morn

heated through by the words, crafted finely by others more savvy at it than i…

i have been visually stimulated by digital magic: a photo-stream, a poem, read out-loud by a eastern-sea board father for his daughter

voice, two faces, a child’s wisdom, words, tenderness, adoration

a simple story to tell of a toddler’s “amazing story” to her daddy

outside, a dense fog lies, covering the fall plant-life in the untended garden

yet, here, i am warmed     senses, alive

ears, eyes

the touch of fingertips on the keyboard that brought me this digital gift

a moment of distraction from the chill of a quiet fog

a moment, away from the thoughts of those i care

and have cared about

distraction from recent death    a moment away from those i cherish who are suffering, sick    and one, slow-dancing around the final edges of life

yet here, i have been warmed

given a chilly morning’s gift of

this moment’s peace

a breath of art’s beauty like a soft whisper

has warmed me to the bone
