between the painful and the absurd

between the absurd and the painful

a blessed restfulness stands, awaiting discovery

corners of mouths upturned     mounted on faces merging to the skies

trapped tears cascading like soft rain

a song, a plea from the heavens  accompanies the sound of a  gate closing on rusty hinges

awakening old memories, rich and powerful    of summer roses fragrant and perfect in the noon-day sun

while in the stunted silence of a brilliant sunset hour

in a sparse, fleeting moment

the tapestry of one’s life unfurls  wrapping me    today

in its wings

while the distance between the painful and the absurd

has spanned this lifetime

One Response to between the painful and the absurd

  1. David Garcia says:

WOW…and I only read it (hard) once…I got images of Hawaii ….what a great opening ‘between the absurd and the painful’ … who can’t relate to that…and ‘in the stunted silence of a brilliant sunset’….I flash back to one on Tahiti ….brava, keep going, I wait to see what Shadowdance next dance is xd
