daze like this

its dark outside at 2pm

full clouds are gathering for tonight’s     predicted rainstorm          the fallen leaves sit silently covering wooden deck slabs outside this glass door     dead flowers sit      still unattended in talavera pots       understanding end-games     better than i ever could

we in this region of CA weather    are spoiled rotten       with the  calm of our predictible    days and weather     patterns        when clouds gather in darkness  most sigh at the inconvenience of the possibilites of rainwater       soaking their heads    while already challenged drivers scratch their surface with much greater confusion   while  decidedly crazed in their attempts at manuevering in road wetness

these are the moments         before the deluge of winter in CA     those who have an investment in filling wells and water tanks        pray         to the rain gods   to nurture and fill the dry and empty  lifesources    yet zeuss has already shown his wrath to those innocents   trusting in nature’s power   as typhoon and tsunami  slammed one god’s rage   into humans       frail and small     who still   with us   remain      troubled and confused in the wake    of such destruction

o’no      zeuss     tlaoc       and evil jupiter         do we ask your forgiveness     beg you in advance to spare us a similar demise        should we be this cautious     or simply welcome this necessary heavy rain
